Katy Harris

MSPH, CSCS

Katy discovered her passion for wellness and preventive health as a teenager when she found that exercise improved her mood. Starting athletics in middle school, Katy played varsity basketball, soccer, and volleyball, and was all-region with her college ultimate Frisbee team UNC Pleiades in 2002.

Katy began creating workout plans for her team in 2007 after consulting with the Olympic coaches at UNC. In 2008 she received a certification as a nutrition specialist, then in 2012 she received a Strength Coaching certification from the National Strength & Conditioning Association, the only certification accepted by the NCAA for college coaches. After a career in personal training and public health, she opened the doors to WellLife Consulting, LLC in 2014 offering wellness, weight loss, and workout plans for individuals, teams, and corporate groups.

Katy’s lifelong participation in sports, leadership and athlete development, and coaching certifications make her uniquely qualified to assist athletes in achieving their performance and health goals. She has been a competitive ultimate Frisbee player on the national and international stage since 2002, and has placed 2nd in the nation in 2005 with Backhoe and 3rd in the nation in 2011 with Phoenix. In 2015-16, Katy was the assistant and strength coach for the Charlotte Express professional ultimate team. She has won the international tournament Paganello in 2009, and continued club play with Phoenix and Scandal through 2017.

She is currently on the leadership for her coed team, is the Girls Ultimate Coordinator for North Carolina, and consults for the Raleigh flyers and Radiance professional ultimate teams. She has provided workouts and plans for triangle youth teams since 2014.
